There is one vacancy with the Department of Facility Maintenance, Public Building and Electrical Maintenance Division. Work schedule is 6:50 AM to 3:20 PM, Monday to Friday. Position also serves as a disaster response worker. This list may be used to fill future vacancies in this and/or other departments.

Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to show competence in the maintenance and repair of commercial or industrial air conditioning or refrigeration systems.
Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of the methods and procedures used in the operation, maintenance and repair of air conditioning systems; servicing requirements of air conditioning and other plant mechanical equipment; basic concepts and standards relating to the operation and maintenance of other plumbing, mechanical, and electrical equipment such as blowers, pumps, hoists, valves, etc.; and the ability to interpret mechanical plans and diagrams; maintain, service and repair air conditioning units and other mechanical equipment; identify malfunctions and remedy same; and estimate time, labor and material requirements.
License / Certificate Requirement:
1. At time of application, a certificate approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the servicing and disposal of refrigerants. Type: Universal Certification

FINGERPRINTING REQUIREMENT: This position will be assigned to service the Joint Traffic Management Center (JTMC). Any employee with unescorted access to secured areas and equipment within the JTMC requires a fingerprint-based criminal history record check. Therefore, the selectee will be required to be fingerprinted as part of their employment suitability review. The Department of Human Resources will review fingerprint-based state and national criminal history record information from the Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
