Summary of Responsibilities:

This position provides support to the Director of Finance and the Hotel Management Team in providing continuous leadership and guidance in matters relating to the financial operation of the hotel.  Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:   

  • Oversee daily operation of the Finance Department activities.
  • Interviews, selects, trains, appraises, coaches, counsels and disciplines finance personnel according to Accor standards.
  • Develop an engaged, enthusiastic and service driven team of accounting professionals.
  • Management of bank accounts including preparation and entry of wire and ACH payments, monitoring of all incoming EFT payments to ensure they are properly entered into the PMS, management of positive pay for AP checks and communicating bank balances to Director of Finance.
  • Ensures proper, timely payment of fees for licenses, permits, regulatory contracts and insurance policies. 
  • Implement, train and audit internal control procedures designed to safeguard owners/investors assets and ensures compliance with all Federal, State, Local regulations.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring efficient and accurate completion of all month-end functions for review with the Director of Finance.
  • Monitor, supervise and prepare month-end balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial operating statements and reports in accordance with Corporate Policy and Procedure and SOX regulations.
  • Assist departments in the interpretation, orientation, training and analysis of revenue, payroll and expense matters.
  • Perform analytical reviews of Financial Statements and explains any variances from Budget.
  • Coordinate and ensure that all daily, semi-monthly and monthly management reports are issued on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Participate in the creation of the Annual Operating & Capital Budgets, Strategic Plan, and Monthly Operating Forecasts.
  • Assist in the effective utilization and integration of hotel and accounting technology systems, including software applications, current and future.
  • Represent the accounting office and the Director of Finance in his/her absence.
  • Participate in Senior Duty Manager schedule, rotating with other senior managers of the hotel throughout the year.
  • Actively contribute to hotel overall leadership and direction by contributing to daily and weekly interdepartmental meetings.
