The responsibilities of the Facilities Coordinator include provision of services to chronically mentally ill veteran residents and after-hours oversight of the facility. This position primarily maintains the DeMontfort properties by performing minor repairs and maintenance, scheduling major repairs as required, monitoring outside contractors and purchases, and ensuring that the facility is stocked with adequate food and supplies. In addition, the Facilities Coordinator monitors the activities of residents after regular program hours, responds to emergencies, completes appropriate documentation, and works with clinical staff to identify resident issues and facility needs. The Facilities Coordinator works under the supervision of the DeMontfort Program Manager.

Monday to Friday, 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm

⢠Perform daily rounds in both buildings at the DeMontfort facility, routine inspection of the buildings for safety concerns, maintenance issues, and cleaning needs.
⢠Maintain general grounds of the facility
⢠Arrange for repairs and/or replacement of equipment, appliances, and building parts as necessary in collaboration with the Swords to Plowshares Facilities Manager
⢠Monitor outside contractors and purchases to ensure timely receipt of items needed onsite for program and facility operations
⢠Walk the grounds and check the buildings at the De Montfort facility to observe activities, either in the physical plant or with veterans residing in the facility
⢠Ensure that rooms are move-in ready for new veterans entering program
⢠Stock complete room kits so that unit turns are easily completed
⢠Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry for bedding when veterans exit the program
⢠Coordinate with the outside cleaning agency for unit turns and other facility cleaning needs in collaboration with the Facilities Manager
⢠Perform census oversight of the meal program in collaboration with contracted food service provider
⢠Assist with meal preparation, food deliveries, and food orders
⢠Ensure regular rotation and disposal of food from kitchen areas and pantries
⢠Create and post flyers, memos or notifications in community areas when necessary for program announcements
⢠Create and implement biweekly resident chore list; report negligence in assigned chore duties by residents to the Clinical Team
⢠Ensure supplies are well-stocked and order new supplies as needed
⢠Perform clerical duties as assigned; including creating excel spreadsheets or making photocopies
⢠Respond to emergencies which may include crisis intervention and de-escalation
⢠Perform documentation, i.e. Incident Reports, shift emails, and Log Book entries, before the end of the shift
⢠Engage professionally with residents and staff to build rapport and foster a positive community atmosphere
⢠Assist Evening Program Monitor as necessary in managing the program environment after regular hours


⢠Associates degree, high school diploma or GED considered with experience
⢠Minimum of two (2) years experience working with âhard to serveâ, substance abuse and mental health veterans, with at least one (1) year in a human service agency
⢠Translatable military experience and skills may be alternatively substituted

⢠Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
⢠Experience in purchasing and maintenance of inventories
⢠Knowledge of Crisis Intervention and de-escalation techniques
⢠Ability to pass a Food Safety Course upon hire
⢠Ability to be a team player
⢠Computer literacy skills to include electronic payroll, email communication, Microsoft Office Suite
⢠Ability to walk up and down stairs
⢠Ability to lift 25lbs
⢠Ability to perform minor repairs
⢠Employee must be able to perform functions of the position within what would be considered reasonable accommodation
⢠Must have a clean DMV driving record
⢠Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities and be comfortable working with an at-risk veteran population, including embracing the agencyâs Cultural Humility Initiative
