Tax Advisor/Bookkeeping Manager
Small (4 person) and rapidly growing tax practice, downtown Grass Valley, offering tax preparation services and consulting (Individual, Corporate, Trust, Not for Profit), bookkeeping, and resolution services. The office currently hosts an office manager and 3 tax specialists (including the owner); the office manager and 2 tax specialist are versed in bookkeeping and Quickbooks as well. Teamwork and cross training are essential. Suits are not required but professionalism is, commitment to timely execution and follow up of engagements. The client may not always be right, but we let them think they are; we teach compliance and are sensitive to the challenges life throws in our paths.
Responsibilities for the open position include:
Intake of tax, bookkeeping, and resolution clients; creation of action plan, account setup, and commencement of client services with support of office manager and CTEC. Tax law research. Participate in developing office processes and equipment as we continue to adjust to a paperless IT and AI environment. Maintain/improve current office practices and procedures. Remote work potential, schedule flexibility based on clients' needs, fulltime most of year, possible part time around turn of the year, holidays, and mid summer.
Enrolled Agent, CPA, or Tax Attorney (Accounting degree with willingness to get EA OK) with strong background in Corporate tax preparation and Bookkeeping/Payroll reconciliation.
Willingness to grow into Tax Resolution services secondary.
Excellent communication /organization skills essential: written, verbal, and proofing.
Ability to organize and juggle workload through a timely conclusion and delivery.
Client access to office interior held to minimum (curbside assistance offered if client has no computer accessibility/skill). Face masks and hand sanitization required for access. Remote accommodation available in near future.
